Fiber OPTIONS: Material Explorations

The Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) invites all artists residing in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico to enter its third biennial open-juried competition for artists working with fiber. Any two- or three-dimensional submission following exhibition guidelines will be considered by the juror. The juror of esteem for this exhibition is Aaron McIntosh, a full-time professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art in the Fiber Department.

Any original work not previously exhibited in a juried show at Circle Gallery that is constructed of natural or synthetic fiber including soft sculpture, painting on silk, felting, applique, tapestries, wearable art and more are eligible.

 

Deadline for submission is May 22! All those interested may submit the entries online only.

1. All work must be priced for sale or marked POR (price on request). 
2. Maximum dimensions of entry, including outside edges of frame, cannot exceed 72” in any direction.
3. Submit one JPEG image per piece entered and detail image as allowed.

Cash awards total $1,000, are designated by the juror, and contributors and recipients will be listed in the exhibition catalog.
