Senate Bill 5 (SB5), a bill that restricts collective bargaining rights of 360,000 public employees of the state of Ohio, passed in both the Ohio House and Senate by the end of March 2011. Under this new law unionize workers are unable to negotiate healthcare, sick time or pensions benefits. The protests documented here took place on March 3 and March 8, 2011. Union workers still protest today as they vow to collect 230,000 signatures to place a referendum on the November 2011 ballot to repeal the law.
