The exhibition “Art as Contemporary Folklore” is an exploration of art historical precedents and their relationships to the present.
Ohio Art League artist Maria DiFranco investigates these interrelationships through her etchings, paintings, and graphite drawings. Her work contains depictions of the contemporary experience as seen through the eyes of this Ohio Artist. Inspired by the work of Francisco Goya, DiFranco also cloaks her account of contemporary society in symbolism.
“At as Contemporary Folklore” is on display through August 30 at the Acock Gallery of CCAD in Downtown Columbus.
