OAL member,Judy Takács, is debuting her curatorial skills at the Majority Rising: Cleveland’s Female Gaze Exhibition. The exhibition showcases the work of some of Cleveland’s most famous female artists such as: Shirley Aley Campbell, Lee Heinen, Kathleen McKenna, Marsha Sweet and Marilyn Szalay. Judy will also be including her paintings of the other artists as her contribution to the exhibition. Don’t miss this wonderful exhibition of some of Cleveland’s most talented and legendary artists!

In case you haven’t heard of Women Painting Women, its actually major movement now, started as a blog to spotlight women artists a few years ago by innovator artists, Alia El-Bermani, Diane Feisel and Sadie Valeri. Over the past five years, this revolution has grown into multiple shows each September at some of the finest figurative art galleries across the country. And this year…after trying for a few years to get in, one of “Chicks with Balls” creator Judy Takacs paintings will be included! Yay!
The show opens tomorrow, September 5th at the Principle Gallery in Charleston, South Carolina from 6- 8 pm. As we know this is quite the voyage to make in 24-hour’s notice, so you can still check out Takacs’s solo exhibition in Oberlin, Ohio on the same night! And she will be there!
The Age of Adventure: Judy Takács Paints the Retired and Inspired includes selections of her paintings of seniors from the Solon Senior Center, the Nuns of Notre Dame and others. If you’re in the area over the weekend, check out the Gallery Talk with Judy at 4:30 pm tomorrow night (9/5). The Age of Adventure will be on display through October 5 at the Kendal Gallery at Oberlin.

Chicks with Balls, by member artist Judy Takacs became a traveling exhibition after its first debut in 2013 at BAYarts in Bay Village, Ohio. The ladies depicted here in ‘Chicks with Balls’ really are strong women. “They are the unsung heroines of their ordinary Midwestern lives” and some of these ladies know how to have some fun a show a little skin.

Ohio Art League member artist Judy Takács is having several of her works featured in shows across the country.
Her work “Chuck Shrugged” has been accepted to the Allied Artists 100th Annual Juried Show and will be on display with a host of stellar work at the historic and legendary National Arts Club in New York City, from November 4 through the 18th!

Another one of her works, “TheGuarded Idealist” has had tremendous success. The piece was awarded best in show at the Valley Art Center! It can be seen in the Valley Art Center 42nd Annual Juried Show now through December 13th on 155 Bell Street, Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
This third piece, “Cancer Honeymoon” is a sentimental piece. The painting is an image of the artists mom who has been going through ovarian cancer. She is the artist number one muse and has other paintings of her on her blog.
