We know it’s cold outside, but East Franklinton wants to keep your heart, soul, and mind warm with Franklinton Fridays public art crawl!

Every second Friday of the month, East Franklinton neighborhood offers Franklinton Fridays in which businesses, galleries, and various institutions are coming together to bring you the latest and greatest local art. Entities like Glass Axis (at their new location) and Ethical Arts Collective, along with Franklinton Development Association, Magic Brush Art Studio, Franklinton Arts District, 400 West Rich Studios and even Rehab Tavern are offering public tours, studio spaces, and in the case of Columbus Idea Foundry, live demos! Join us this Friday evening for a taste of what your community has to offer. Stop by the studios, galleries, and art spaces to shake hands with the artists and awesome business owners. Don’t forget to stop by Strongwater Food and Spirits and Land-Grant Brewery for a pint of their finest!

2014 German Village Art Crawl “Call For Artists”

The German Village Business Community will be sponsoring the 2014 German Village Art Crawl.  The unique fabric of German Village, including its businesses and restaurants, rich art tradition and historical beauty, will be blended together on Macon Alley, for one magical summer evening, on Saturday, July 19, 2014.   Individual artists can exhibit their work inside Macon Alley garages, village shops and businesses will promote their varied offerings, and German Village restaurants will provide samples of their delicacies during the Art Crawl.  Local musicians will provide entertainment, individual artists will conduct demonstrations to illustrate the creative process.

Columbus area artists are invited to submit applications to exhibit in a garage gallery during the German Village Art Crawl.  Artists selected will be assigned to a garage space shared with one or more artists. They also will receive two tickets for admission to the German Village Art Crawl, beverages and gourmet snacks during the event, pre-event promotion including individual biographies with an example of the artist’s work on the German Village Art Crawl website, and promotion in the German Village Art Crawl program.

To be considered for participation in the German Village Art Crawl, please download and complete the application form. You are welcome to pass the information on to colleagues and friends who might be interested. The evening is a fun way to promote your art.

Dates & Deadlines

June 6, 2014                                   Application deadline—5:00 p.m.

June 20, 2014                                  Notification of selection by e-mail.

June 27, 2014                                   $30 Registration fee and artist biography due.

 July 19, 2014                                   German Village Art Crawl, 5:00—to 9:00 p.m.

                                                          Set up begins between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

                                                          Completed no later than 4:30 p.m.

                                                          Tear down begins at 9:00 p.m.
