Forty miles west of Chicago lies Water Street Studios, a Nonprofit Arts Center, that’s home to two galleries, 26 artist studios, three classrooms, access programs for ceramics, printmaking and welding, a visiting artist residency, and a thriving community of artists.
Anne Harris, painter, professor at SAIC, and board vice president at Riverside Arts Center, will be jurying the group show, Contemporary Portraits.
We here at OAL know the exponential portrait-creating capabilities of some of our members, so make sure to submit your works! Although most portraits are thought of as paintings, portrait works in all media will be considered! No excuses! One work will be awarded, and the artist will receive $500!
Contemporary Portraits will run May 16 through June 27, 2015.The Opening Reception takes place Saturday, May 16, the first night of the exhibition.
Notice of acceptance will be given by April 22nd, and work is to be dropped off May 3rd. Works selected for the exhibition are to be picked up June 28th.
